(The Queen) - I still haven't locked on a name - was once a human champion, not unlike our heroes (I'm also planning a prequel with her story). She had fought (as is later revealed) to free her people from the Angels (the overarching evil force), at much cost to her soul. In her obsession with power, she succumbed to the lure of gold, which carried with it the energy and taint of the Angels. This corruption of her soul drove her to come back to the homeland for vengeance against a betrayer, after she had learnt that she was actually not meant to be a champion, but instead a human sacrifice to the Angels. Her obsession with power is what drives her destruction of the land but it is incidental. She cares for the land, and believes that once she has destroyed the Angels’ grip on it, she will restore it. Again, I always focus on developing characters with a Jungian archetype in mind. This guides decisions and aids believable writing. She is the 'Ruler'.

She is large, standing over 8 feet tall with an elongated cranium and a skinny body with very visible ribs. Her skin is desaturated to a point of inhuman grey and her eyes are shiny black. Her human body seems undernourished and weak but she has powerful magic. She has scars from her fight against slave masters, and veins from her fight against unnatural corruption. She seems young, but this is clearly magic at work. She has spikey protrusions from her back and hips. She has a straight spike through her neck which she adorns with two gold chains connected to piercings in her lips. She has a few white dots on her elongated cranium, ceremonial still from her days as a champion. Tears of gold escape her eyes and nose, and she vomits gold which transforms into monsters.
