Dessine Perdue is loosely translated as 'the lost drawing', but the word perdue, or rather its base, perdre, has a much deeper potential than that. It speaks also to neglect, waste or being ignored, something much stronger and already philosophical in nature than simply 'the lost drawing'. I love English, but it is limited by its awfully specific nature. An incomplete drawing gains consciousness and searches for the artist who created her, and more importantly, left her unfinished. Along the way, she discovers a remarkable ability to interact with real-world object beyond her 2D paper environment. This ability to reach into another dimension allows her to free another drawing from captivity. This drawing's mouth had been erased, but while that raises questions, she seems like the only friend our protagonist has. They share an agenda so they set off together to pursue the quest for their creator through varying art mediums, ranging sketches to ink lines to watercolour and oil, even beyond, but that would be spoiling things.

Our protagonist must adapt to the changing environment through horrifying acts. She is pictured here in her base, blank, sketch form (which I will likely reduce to simpler construction lines, still), then in ink, which she needs to adapt to for the sake of hiding in shadows, and then watercolour, which punctuates a particularly sad and desperate part of the story, echoed by the constant flashes of transparency through her form, as if too much water had been used. She’s losing substance. I'm not yet sure how I will solve this problem when I get to production, my game-dev knowledge is still limited, but I have some ideas. This is set to be an art-game platformer with a deeply philosophical storyline, minimalist soundtrack and thought-provoking twists. The character's motion is crucial. She will move like a mix between a ballerina and a free runner. She needs to be beautiful to watch.

The gameplay will focus on various styles through the varying environments, but the main emphasis will be on perfect agility through complex levels, good timing and puzzle-solving.
