I’ve been drawing since I could hold a pencil, and probably on walls with crayons before that. To visualise what I see in my mind is quite possibly my greatest joy in life.
I vary my style to suit the demand of the job. Vector is usually more aimed at the production of animation and print, and it's an amazing medium for studying shape and colour. Sketching and speed painting are faster, almost fast enough to keep up with ideas. This makes the latter more conceptual, more suited to my needs.
Nothing can explain an idea and unite a production team like a sketch or two.
With personal projects, however, they are more than that. Every image tells a story. If not visually, then there's a narrative behind it, a reason the artist created them.
